Despite the desire to \u201cimbibe,\u201d Rideout wants Arizonans to know the finer details of the law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the very core of the law, possessing marijuana when over the age of 21 is legal across the state. But when it comes to where one smokes and what they might do afterward, the law takes more shape.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A user is usually high for two to 10 hours after ingestion, whether that is through smoking or a type of edible. In that time, a user can receive a DUI if they are driving.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officers across the state are being taught to look for the signs in a driver who is under the influence of marijuana. As well, if a passenger in a car is smoking, they can also face legal charges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smoking in public is not allowed under the law. The same applies to federal land around the state.
