According to the ADOT website, racking up 8 or more points within a single year may require you to attend Traffic Survival School in order to maintain your privilege to drive or may cause your license to be suspended for up to 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The following is a list of driving violations and their associated point quantities:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>DUI \u2013 8 points<\/p>\n<p>Extreme DUI \u2013 8 points<\/p>\n<p>Reckless driving \u2013 8 points<\/p>\n<p>Aggressive driving -8 points<\/p>\n<p>Leaving the scene of an accident (hit-and-run) \u2013 6 points<\/p>\n<p>Failure to stop for a stop sign, traffic signal, or yield to the right of way, causing death \u2013 6 points<\/p>\n<p>Failure to stop for a stop sign, traffic signal, or yield to the right of way, causing serious injury \u2013 4 points<\/p>\n<p>Speeding \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n<p>Driving over or parking in a gore zone \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n<p>All other moving violations \u2013 2 points<\/p>\n<p><em>Some minor violations may result in zero points against you and nominal fines.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Traffic Survival School is a required \u201cpunishment\u201d to prevent a license suspension in certain situations. The MVD will issue you a mandate when TSS is required. Without attending this in-person class, your driver\u2019s license will be suspended. This makes TSS different than Defensive Driving School, which is an optional method used in lieu of paying a traffic ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Severe infractions may be ineligible for Traffic Survival School and will result in an immediate suspension of your driver\u2019s license.
