Laws governing the guidelines for growing marijuana in Arizona are according <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azleg.gov\/ars\/36\/02852.htm\">A.R.S. 36-2852<\/a>. Per this statute, anyone wishing to grow marijuana:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 21 years old.<\/li>\n<li>May not have more than 12 marijuana plants within a single residence where two or more adults over age 21 live.<\/li>\n<li>Must grow the marijuana within a closet, room, greenhouse, or other enclosed area that can be locked to prevent access by minors.<\/li>\n<li>Must grow in an area where the marijuana plants cannot be seen by the public unless they are using binoculars, aircraft, or other optical aids.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyone who violates a law regarding the growing of marijuana can be, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azleg.gov\/ars\/36\/02853.htm\">A.R.S. 36-2853<\/a>, charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A petty offense for a first violation.<\/li>\n<li>A class 3 misdemeanor for the second or subsequent violation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Class 3 misdemeanors are punishable by up to 30 days of incarceration and $500 in fines, while petty offenses can be fined up to $300.<\/p>\n<p>Prop 207 also resulted in the ability to expunge certain marijuana-related offenses from the criminal record of individuals if they occurred prior to November 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020.
