As Arizona changes over to digital medical marijuana cards via email, the positive effects could be felt elsewhere. Arizona has decided to require all medical marijuana cardholders to use their brand-new digital cards starting Dec. 1st.
While being more convenient to those who use it and doubling the lifespan of a card to two years, the card may be of legal benefit to the holder. When being pulled over, especially near state boundaries, you may be asked if you have a medical marijuana card. This question is asked under the suspicion you are carrying marijuana from another state.
Unfortunately, even if you don’t answer and they check you and find the physical card, that is enough of a reason to withhold any large sums of cash you may have on you. This process is completely legal and called civil forfeiture. This new digital card would take out the risk of your card being stumbled upon by police, making civil forfeiture much harder to happen. If you or a family member get into trouble with marijuana or civil forfeiture feel free to visit any of our locations in Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, Tempe, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV.
