Arizona Ports of Entry Locations
Ports of entry are ports located on the Arizona border that monitor passage into, and out of, the state.
Ports of entry located along the Arizona-Mexico border allow the U.S. Border Patrol to monitor traffic through the ports, preventing illegal entry, illicit activity, detecting threats, and promoting economic security. Law enforcement screens all imported cargo, returning U.S. citizens, and foreign visitors to accomplish this mission.
Additionally, all commercial traffic is monitored at all ports of entry to ensure they are within the legal requirements for registration, taxes, size, weight, license, insurance, vehicle maintenance and equipment safety, and permits. Commercial drivers, such as those operating semi-trucks, can receive violations for failing to stop at a port of entry or for not following any of the legal requirements established for a driver of their class.
As of 2024, Arizona has 22 ports of entry. While not common, ports of entry may sometimes be closed. Travelers should research their route across the Arizona border in advance to check for any current closures.
